Go to stlouis-mo.gov and search for “Request a New Tree.” Once you get a tree planted in front of your home, all you have to do is maintain the tree for the first three years at a minimum. You can go to  stlnf.org  to find out more about how to make sure your new tree thrives. PROJECT CLEAR GRANTS UP TO $4,000 FOR LANDSCAPING Project CLEAR is a grant program offered by the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to property owners and individuals or groups willing to landscape their own or public property to improve water retention. You can get a grant for up to $4,000 for landscaping your yard when you remove any existing lawn or water-impermeable surface that is 100 square feet or larger and plant the area with a minimum of 70% native trees, shrubs and perennials. The grants are part of MSD’s Rainscaping Small Grant Program to keep rainwater on our land where it is absorbed into our water table instead of into sewers. Projects can range from a simple rain barrel to a permeable paver patio to an elaborate planting. For more about the grant program, go to msdprojectclear.org  and search for “small grant program.” 50/50 SIDEWALK PROGRAM The 50/50 Sidewalk Program splits the cost to repair your sidewalk between you and the city. Go to stlouis-mo.gov and search for “50/50.”
