GRIFFIN September 2026
2 • CWEA GRIFFIN • September 2026 Hello neighbors, I hope you have had a wonderful summer! We have had an exciting summer full of CWEA events. In May, we had our monthly First Friday Happy Hour at the Link Auditorium on Westminster Place. The Link Auditorium is a hidden gem and full of history. We were able to learn about the history of the 1908 building, view the art gallery on exhibit and mingle over drinks and snacks. What more could you ask for? The newly re-established Wild- flower Saloon welcomed us in for our June Happy Hour. The team at the Saloon has revamped the space and the menu, and it is certainly worth checking out. They even had live music on the patio for the evening. The perfect way to kick off the summer! That brings us to our epic 4th of July Parade! The morning could not have gone more perfectly (of course, other than that pesky, Missouri heat, but what can ya do?). We had a lively crowd, per- formers, Uncle Sam on stilts, lots of red, white and blue, and were led by the fantastic Saint Boogie Brass Band. At Maryland Plaza neighbors enjoyed face painters, stilt performers and balloon twist- ers thanks to the incredible work of Circus Kaput. Catering STLSC served popcorn, specialty hotdogs and two lines serving snow cones to reduce wait time. It was a huge success. And we are so grateful for Christopher Mendel, the Beverage and Social Experience Lead at Bel Air Social, who brought the fun with a bubble machine and af- fogatos. What a treat! Our annual 4th of July Parade and party at Maryland Plaza is com- pletely complimentary and open to the public. We had a fabulously Mediter- ranean evening at Edera at our August First Friday. Complete with Aperol Spritzs on the patio. A big thanks to the team at Edera for the perfect night to close out the summer. Please come visit the CWEA booth and more at the Market on McPherson the last Sunday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on McPherson Avenue. Get ready for our Annual CWEA Award’s Party, honoring those who make long-lasting impacts on our beloved neighborhood. This year’s event will be hosted at the brand new Noble Crown! Tickets will go on sale soon, so please keep an eye on our website and social. Tickets to the party include an open bar and heavy appetizers. Cheers!
