Funds are raised through activities such as the annual “Smarty Gras” trivia night and by working beer and beverage booths at Mardi Gras, Soulard Oktoberfest,Taste of St. Louis and other events.The committee also sells official Soulard merchandise and promotional items. HISTORICAL COMMITTEE Committee Chair – Veronica Putz | Liaison Director – Jay Gibbs The Historical Committee documents and preserves Soulard’s heritage in three ways: • Implements projects to research, document, archive and publicize historical information associated with Soulard • Provides historical services to the SRG, including serving as a focal point for SRG members who study history and a resource for SRG members who wish to learn more about their house history • Builds and increases the historical legacy of the Soulard neighborhood, promotes Soulard history to the public, and provides research services (or referrals) to SRG membership. Contact the committee at history@soulard.org MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE Committee Chair – Christian Del Azodi | Liaison – Linda Hoffman The Membership Committee is an important and active committee. It maintains a database of members of the SRG, recruits new residents to join and plans special events to keep members engaged. Membership produces an annual roster so members can connect with each other.The committee implements several events throughout the year to promote camaraderie and friendships among residents and to maintain member engagement. Committee members are the first people residents see when attending the monthly SRG meetings and to help them feel welcome.The committee sets up socials after the meeting at a member’s home or a new neighborhood business.The committee gifts new homeowners a “Welcome Wagon” basket to introduce them to Soulard.The Membership Committee hosts an annual membership drive in May to celebrate SRG’s successes and to recruit new members.At this meeting, SRG collects annual dues, recognizes volunteers and lifetime achievements of SRG members with an “all-you-can- eat-and-drink” party with music and entertainment.There are four ways to become a member of our neighborhood association: • In person at a membership meeting • Online at soulard.org • Complete and submit the application published in our Renaissance newspaper • Email membership@soulard.org
