SoHa Directory 2026

26 2026 | SOHA Community Directory Neighborhood Safety #9PMROUTINE The #9PM Routine began in Florida and has spread throughout the country. It is credited with reducing property crime up to 36 percent and we support this effort! Criminals look for easy targets. Many vehicle burglaries, and to a lesser degree, stolen vehicles, occur as a result of vehicles being left unlocked. Criminals walk through neighborhoods, trying vehicle door handles, hoping to find an unlocked vehicle to steal the items within. Criminals also walk the allies trying to open the back gates and garages. You can make it more difficult for them by following the #9PMROUTINE. Here’s what you can do to be proactive: By 9 pm remove valuables from your vehicles, such as phone, wallet, keys, firearms, money including coins, credit cards, jewelry, and electronic devices. Lock the doors to your vehicle, lock the doors to your house, and make sure your garage door is down and locked. Check to make sure your bike and garden tools are secure and lock your shed or storage unit. Double check to make sure your gates facing the alleys are closed and locked. Turn on your exterior lights and activate all alarms and security systems if you have them. Always call 911 if there is an emergency or suspicious activity. Add the St. Louis Police Non- Emergency number 314-231-1212 to your cell phone contact list. Check out the new website of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department for more information, slmpd.org/crimeprevention/ Get started with this #9PM Routine today by setting a notification on your phone.
