Nestled on the western side of the city in the central corridor, the 4 th Ward is a world-class place to live, work, and play. Whether you are looking for walkable neighborhoods, beautiful parks, award- winning restaurants and bars, good neighborhood schools, or simply a community-driven atmosphere, the 4thWard has it. Plus, our accessibility to major highways makes it easy to get wherever you want to go. The 4th Ward was created following redistricting in 2023 and comprises the city’s official neighborhoods of Lindenwood Park, Cheltenham, Clayton-Tamm, Clifton Heights, Ellendale, Franz Park, and Hi-Pointe, parts of which combine to form the unofficial neighborhood affectionately known as “Dogtown.” Many are familiar with Dogtown as St. Louis’ historic Irish neighborhood and the site of a large parade and festival every year on St. Patrick’s Day. The residents, businesses, parks, schools, and community organizations make the 4th Ward a great place to move to, raise a family, or simply to stop by on your way home from work for a burger and a beer.
